3 NC teachers killed, 1 critically injured in car crash

THREE educators from Umso High School in Colesberg died in a motor vehicle accident on Saturday night.

The spokesperson for the Northern Cape Department of Education, Geoffrey van der Merwe, said a fourth educator was in critical condition in hospital.

"The Northern Cape Department of Education conveys its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families as they come to terms with this devastating loss," Van der Merwe said on Sunday.

He added that the provincial departments of Education and Social Development would provide support and counselling to pupils and educators at the affected school on Monday.
