THE SOL Plaatje Municipality has indicated that the total water shutdown scheduled for from tomorrow until Friday will go ahead as planned.
Municipal spokesperson Sello Matsie yesterday urged residents to make the necessary arrangements to ensure that they have adequate water supplies.
“People must ensure they get enough water. The shutdown is as a result of the connection of the 965 pipe at the new Riverton pump station.
“There will be a total shutdown of the water supply from Riverton to drain the DN600 and DN900 pump lines. The tie-in of the DN900 pump line will start as soon as the two pump lines are drained.
“This will be the last major connection to be made by the municipality. Work will start from Wednesday evening and is expected to be finished by Friday evening,” said Matsie.
He asked residents to be patient during the process.
“It is foreseen that the water supply will be at full capacity by Saturday afternoon. This is part of the upgrading of infrastructure and we apologise for the inconvenience,” Matsie said.
