THE PROVINCIAL Nature Reserves Open Week is currently under way with the Northern Cape Department of Environment and Nature Conservation focussed on “connecting people to nature”.
According to the spokesperson for the department, Lesego Pule, this initiative, which was launched on Friday and continues until Sunday, aims to bring people from all walks of life together to experience the Northern Cape’s fauna and flora by waiving the entry fees at a number of nature reserves in the Province.
Guests to Doornkloof (Colesberg), Goegap (Springbok), Oorlogskloof (Nieuwoudtville) and Rolfontein (Vanderkloof) Nature Reserves will have until this weekend to take in the wildlife free of charge.
“However, the Open Week grants free gate access for day visitors only,” Pule said. - Murray Swart
