Mitsubishi Pajero Sport gets an update, more features, but no price hike

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has been given another facelift, and enhanced value proposition.

WHILE the world waits for a new-generation Mitsubishi Pajero Sport based on the latest Triton, the current generation SUV is soldiering on with a mild facelift and enhanced value proposition.

Now on sale in South Africa, the updated Pajero Sport features a number of exterior as well as interior enhancements and added features.

Pricing remains the same, however, with 2.4L DI-DC costing R789,990 in 2WD guise and R854,990 as a 4WD, while the 4WD Exceed variant is yours for R904,990.

Exterior changes include an updated ‘Dynamic Shield’ grille as well as new front and rear under-garnishes, while redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels add a final touch of class.

The lower grille gets a honeycomb pattern.

Inside, you’ll notice a new 8.0-inch fully digital instrument cluster as well as a redesigned steering wheel and black ceiling headliner.

Power, as before, comes from the tried and tested MIVEC 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine, which delivers 133kW and 430Nm through an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The Super Select 4WD-II system on 4x4 versions has four selectable off-road modes, including low-range with centre diff locked.

Standard features across the range include an 8.0-inch touchscreen, black leather seats, dual zone climate control with rear vents, sunroof and electrically operated tailgate.

Additionally, the 2025 model also gains a Multi Around Monitor, as well as an Ultrasonic Mis-acceleration Mitigation System, which prevents accidental acceleration at low speeds.

“All these enhancements come with no change to the selling price of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, ensuring that this popular enthusiast model remains an excellent choice in the adventure SUV category, while representing unquestionable value for money,” says Mitsubishi SA marketing manager Jeffrey Allison.

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is backed up by a five-year or 90,000km service plan and a three-year/100,000km warranty.
