Just when you thought you had seen it all, a woman on TikTok has gone viral after she shared a bizarre and gross “hack” to wash your dirty underwear using a hotel’s coffee machine.

Content creator @Tara_Woodcox dubbed the hack the "coolest trick," particularly useful for those who haven't packed enough underwear while they're travelling.

“I’m about to show you guys one of the coolest tricks ever. Say you’re travelling, and you didn’t pack enough underwear, and you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, what am I going to wear tomorrow?’

“Every room has a coffee pot thing in it. All you have to do is put your underwear where you would put the coffee grounds. You close it, press brew, and it puts scorching hot water through it,” she said.

Woodcox even gave another “hack” on how to dry your underwear after washing them in a coffee machine.

She said that all you have to do is use a hair dryer provided by the hotel, and you’re sorted.

She continued to add that she learned this “amazing” hack from her friend, who is a flight attendant.

Although the post was shared in November 2025, it has quickly gone viral over the past few days as social media users commented on the repulsive hack that left many speechless and shocked.

In addition, even though she clearly says this is a brilliant hack on the video, in the comments, she is backtracking by saying that she does not do this because she also finds it disgusting.

So why share this “brilliant hack” if you also find it disgusting?

Not only is this making people concerned about hygiene, but it also makes one wonder how many people have done this and are getting people sick over this alleged hack.

A lot of social media users attacked Woodcox, saying that this is very unhygienic, while others added that they thought it was basic knowledge to wash your dirty underwear in a sink with soap.

“This isn’t a ‘hack’. It’s unhygienic and disrespectful. Other guests use those coffee machines. Please have basic consideration for shared spaces,” a social media user commented.

“But who doesn’t pack at least 3x the number of underwear that you'll actually need when you travel?” a user asked.

“So washing it in the sink or bathtub or shower with some hand soap or something was never an option? Like you didn’t think about that?” another user added.
