Doja Cat has officially confirmed her South African tour, adding her own stamp of approval after the initial headliner announcement!

The American singer and rapper, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, revealed that she is coming to Mzansi after she was announced as the headliner for the Global Citizen concert that is scheduled to take place in Pretoria next month.

The “Agora Hills” hitmaker took to Instagram to share the news of the event, saying that she is excited to finally come to SA.

“Hi everybody, I am so excited to announce that I am finally going to SA and meeting my fans in Rwanda. I am working with Global Citizen and Move Afrika,” she said.

Dubbed the "Queen of Pop-Rap", the Grammy Award-winning singer also expressed her that the tour will do more than just entertain; it will also generate job opportunities.

This aspect is particularly significant, given the current unemployment rate in the country.

“This isn't just an opportunity to tour and play music. It is going to help people find jobs and create opportunities that last, so I am very, very happy to be part of something that is more than just music. I can’t wait to see you guys mcwaaah!” she added.

As previously reported by “IOL”, this year's instalment advances Move Afrika’s long-term mission to build the first-ever pan-African music touring circuit that drives economic investment and creates opportunities for the next generation of young Africans to work in the continent’s creative economies in all its host cities

Move Afrika is set to kick off its tour in Kigali with an event at the BK Arena on March 17.

Following this, the tour will proceed to Pretoria for Move Afrika: Pretoria, scheduled for March 20 at the SunBet Arena.

Doja Cat rose to fame in 2018, even though she had been creating music for over a decade, after she released her song “Mooo!”, which made her a viral meme.

The song topped the charts and gained over 100 million views on YouTube.

Following her track’s success, the rapper released an album in 2018 called “Amala”, which made its entry to the Billboard 200 charts.

She has since received widespread recognition and received numerous accolades including a Grammy award, NAACP award, People’s Choice award and more.
