Makhadzi (real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona), who had been recovering from a recent car accident, is back to doing what she loves most: performing. She has been cleared to return to work.
This announcement comes after she was involved in a car accident on the morning of December 31, 2025, while travelling from Limpopo to Johannesburg.
Following the accident, the Limpopo-born artist underwent surgery and was advised to take a break from performing for 10 weeks to focus on her recovery.
On February 16, Makhadzi took to Instagram to share the good news that she had fully recovered from her injuries and was available for bookings.
In her statement, Makhadzi Entertainment confirmed, “As of Friday, 13 February 2026, Makhadzi has been cleared to return to work by her doctors. After a check-up on Friday morning in Polokwane, she received the green light to continue with her career. The doctors are pleased with her recovery and were satisfied after conducting all necessary checks.”
Expressing her gratitude, Makhadzi thanked everyone who supported her during her healing journey.
“I am feeling good and would like to thank all the staff members, nurses, and doctors from Netcare, Pholosho in Polokwane, for taking care of me from day one.
"I would also like to thank the Minister of Sport, Mr Gayton Mackenzie; Limpopo Premier, Dr Phophi Ramathuba; Polokwane Mayor Cllr John Mpe; my family; my mother and father; my team; fellow artists; The AFRIMAs; Munguambe Foundation; and all my followers for their prayers and messages of support,” she said.
Determined not to let her injury hinder her creativity, Makhadzi surprised fans by releasing new music during her recovery.
The "Matorokisi" singer launched her latest track, "Operations", featuring Mr Brown and TS Man, on January 16.
This inspirational song reflects her healing journey while recuperating at home after being discharged from the hospital.
Makhadzi had previously assured her fans on Instagram and TikTok that she would release a full version of the song after experimenting with beats while at home.
Adding a touch of humour to her situation, she chose a selfie taken while lying in a hospital bed as the cover for her song.
Following the successful release, Makhadzi trended on the social media platform X, with fans responding positively to her creativity.
Her team stated, “She has been busy making music during her recovery period, and fans can expect new music coming very soon. The team has also been hard at work preparing for her comeback show, which will take place at Fountains, Pretoria, on the 1st of May 2026.”
