Siya Kolisi shares a proud big brother moment as Liyema gets his first car

Springbok Captain Siya Kolisi is beaming with pride after his younger brother Liyema Kolisi received the keys to his first car.

Kolisi shared a post on Instagram on Thursday, February 12, showing Liyema grinning beside his brand-new Suzuki Jimny with an oversized red bow on it.

Siya reflected on his upbringing on his post and paid tribute to their late mother, expressing both gratitude and pride in the lives they have built.

The rugby star wrote in his caption: “Mama jonga abantwana bakho”, which translates to “Mom, look at your children".

He also added a picture that spoke volumes to the post. “God blesses us to bless others,” the caption on the picture read, which suggests that he bought the Jimmy for his younger brother.

Siya has always spoken about the importance of family in his life. He has a great relationship with his brother, Liyema, and the two are often seen spending time together over a meal, enjoying each other’s company. This can be seen on the captain’s TikTok page.

Siya and his ex-wife Rachel adopted his two half-siblings, Liyema and Liphelo, in 2014, after they found them in foster care in the Zwide township in Gqeberha. They were living in foster care after Siya’s mother passed away in 2009.

Siya has provided a stable home for his siblings and consistently demonstrated his deep commitment to family through love, support and presence in their lives. He has also played an active role in guiding his siblings.

Social media users poured in to congratulate Liyema on his first car while also praising Siya for being such a supportive brother.

“Wishing you many happy and safe kilometres in your new ride, Liy,” @lingreenspan commented 

“Siya really paved the way for his entire bloodline. May God always protect this man, our country’s head boy,” said @dewafrica.

Kolisi’s rumoured new girlfriend, Rachel John, also left a comment on the post. “The best car! 🤭” she wrote.

Fans have been speculating for months on whether Siya is in a relationship with the Dutch influencer, as the two have not officially confirmed anything yet.

Siya shared a video earlier this month showing him and his brother enjoying Nigerian jollof rice. This video also sparked speculation among fans that his rumoured new girlfriend may have prepared the meal.
