The Sally Aucamp Home for the Physically Disabled in Kimberley is appealing to the community for urgent donations of adult disposable nappies.

The home, based in Cassandra, is the only adult institution of its kind in the Northern Cape, providing full-time care to physically disabled adults of all races.

It currently houses 12 category 3 disabled residents and relies on a combination of government subsidies and community donations to operate.

Management says the most pressing need at present is for disposable nappies in medium and large sizes.

Anyone able to assist can drop off donations directly at the home in Cassandra or arrange collection by contacting Matron Elize on 082 724 1770.

The board of management, which consists entirely of volunteers, continues to raise funds to support the facility’s running costs. However, ongoing community support remains essential to ensure the home can continue providing care to its residents.
