TV personality and rapper Jub Jub (real name Molemo Maarohanye) has opened up about taking a different approach to his health, sharing that he has decided to undergo a cosmetic procedure after years of struggling with his belly fat.

The rapper and "Uyajola 9/9" host revealed on Instagram that he is preparing for liposuction, documenting a recent consultation at Herrwood Medical Centre.

In the video, Jub Jub explained that the decision came after what he described as a difficult few years dealing with his belly and repeated attempts to lose it through other methods, such as Ozempic.

“It's been a rough couple of years with this here belly. I got time to maintain it, but I don't have time to lose it. Even with this, I still gotta maintain a good diet plan,” he wrote in the caption.

A doctor was seen marking his stomach as part of the preparation, outlining areas where stubborn fat would be removed. Jub Jub also shared that he had previously tried different weight-loss options, including medication.

“I tried everything from Ozempic, whatever injections, all those funny things, you know,” he said.

His announcement places him among a growing number of South African celebrities who have been open about actively taking control of their health and bodies.

Actress Gugu Gumede has been one of the most vocal about this journey. Two years after undergoing gastric sleeve surgery, she has described the decision as one that significantly improved her quality of life.

Gumede has shared that beyond weight loss, the surgery helped her regain energy, confidence and the ability to be more present in her everyday life, especially as a mother.

In the music industry, a different approach has been visible. DJs like Shimza and the Major League DJz have documented their physical transformations through consistent lifestyle changes rather than surgery.

Despite demanding schedules and constant travel, they have prioritised fitness and long-term health, and were praised by fans for the visible results of their dedication.
