The Barbz, Nicki Minaj’s fans, have been left conflicted by the rap star’s latest political actions. The Trinidadian rapper and singer-songwriter spoke during an event on 'Trump Accounts' at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington.

Nicki Minaj declared during her speech that she was President Donald Trump's "number one fan," adding that "hate" directed at him made her support him more.

Trump called the rap icon up on stage after she announced her support for so-called "Trump Accounts," which provide trust funds for children.

"I will say that I am probably the president's number one fan, and that's not going to change," said Minaj, who wore a furry white coat as she embraced Trump and took the podium.

"And the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more."

Previously a critic of Trump's hardline immigration policies, but in recent years Nicki Minaj has been praising his leadership. The “Anaconda” hitmaker’s latest supportive act of Trump has certainly left fans divided, with some saying she go where she is supported.

@glindaupland said: “Nicki Minaj came to the US as an illegal immigrant and here she is standing proudly next to Donald Trump as thousands of immigrants are ripped from their families and murdered daily. can we all stop supporting her now?”

@nickivirals said: “Sorry, but what Nicki Minaj did today is insane. She came to the United States as an immigrant and turned herself into a multimillionaire through her talent rap. And now she’s standing next to the president, who holds one of the most powerful offices in the world. Give my girl her props!”

@itsrahthoe said: “Nicki Minaj stood at that podium knowing the hate was already typed, drafted, and ready to be posted. And she said it anyway. She made it clear she supports Trump, and she’s not asking permission, approval, or forgiveness for it. She didn’t come to be palatable. She didn’t come to be liked. She came as Nicki Minaj unfiltered, and unapologetic.”
