The ton is buzzing with news of a new arrival, and it is time to officially meet the woman who has captured the heart of our favourite bohemian Bridgerton brother.

Yerin Ha has been cast as the leading lady for the upcoming fourth season of Bridgerton, where she will step into the role of Sophie Baek.

While the character is known to book fans as Sophie Beckett, the series has updated her name to honour Ha's own heritage, adding a layer of personal connection to this much-anticipated debut.

Ha is a talented 27-year-old actress who was born and raised in Sydney, Australia.

She comes from a family with roots in the performing arts, as her grandmother is a well-known actress in South Korea, and her parents actually met while attending drama school.

Before landing this role, Ha made a name for herself in the sci-fi world as Kwan Ha in the series “Halo.”

You might also recognise her from the boarding school drama “Bad Behaviour” or the independent horror film “Sissy.”

The popularity of Bridgerton shows no signs of slowing down, and this new season is set to be one of the most enchanting yet.

Taking inspiration from the classic Cinderella story, the plot follows Benedict Bridgerton as he encounters a mysterious Lady in Silver at a masquerade ball.

Sophie is a resourceful woman who has faced her share of challenges working for a demanding employer, but her life changed forever after that fateful dance.

Fans are already counting down the days to see the chemistry between Ha and Luke Thompson, especially after their stunning appearance together at the Paris premiere on January 15.

Joining the ranks of the Bridgerton leading ladies is no small feat, as Ha follows in the footsteps of some truly iconic performers.

We first fell in love with Phoebe Dynevor as the diamond of the season, Daphne, followed by the fierce and independent Kate Sharma, played by Simone Ashley.

Most recently, Nicola Coughlan stole our hearts as Penelope Featherington in a friends-to-lovers arc that left everyone swooning.

Each actress has brought something unique to the series, and Ha is perfectly poised to continue that legacy of grace and charm.

The wait for the new season is almost over, with the first four episodes scheduled to drop on Netflix on January 29.

Viewers are particularly excited to see the downstairs perspective of the ton and how this fairy tale romance will bridge the gap between different social classes.
