Set five years after the events of the last season, the trailer teases drug-related danger, complicated adult relationships and emotional fallout that has followed the characters into their mid-twenties.

We’ve waited ages for the new season of "Euphoria", and hopefully it’s the last one because our blood pressure cannot keep doing this.

For years, it has been nothing but whispers, theories, and speculation on the internet.

This is in, that is out; this character is dead, that one is redeemed. However, the truth is that we never really knew what to expect. All we knew was that the series ended with a situation hanging very awkwardly in the air.

And let’s be real, that suitcase has been living rent-free in our minds for far too long.

But anyway! The trailer has finally dropped, and it’s exactly what you’d expect from "Euphoria": sex, drugs, violence and emotional damage served on a silver platter.

This time, the show jumps five years into the future, following the characters after high school - which, frankly, feels like the same amount of time we’ve been waiting for this season. The kids have grown up, but judging by the footage, the mess has only evolved.

Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer and Jacob Elordi are all back for episodes four years in the making.

Zendaya’s Rue is once again deep in trouble with drug dealers, including the return of Martha Kelly. And yes, Rue is running again, physically or metaphorically, who knows? Sis is always running from something. Peace, responsibility, consequences… take your pick.

Cassie, meanwhile, has taken a sharp turn into cam-girl territory, and by that we mean the very popular OnlyFans. Love has apparently won for her and Nate, with the trailer teasing an engagement, marriage and a full suburban fantasy.

Wild, considering Nate was once the hot high school menace who got into everyone’s pants and everyone’s nerves. Now? It’s giving “peaked in high school” with a side of existential crisis, though, irritatingly, still hot.

Hunter Schafer’s Jules remains ever-present, but this time she’s evolved into a “sugar baby”: a term used for someone who receives financial or material support from an older, wealthier partner in exchange for companionship, attention or a lifestyle upgrade. Leave it to "Euphoria" to romanticise and complicate that dynamic in one breath.

Alexa Demie’s Maddy Perez is back exactly how we remember her: Feisty, sharp-tongued, immaculately styled and completely allergic to nonsense.

In the trailer, she casually notes that every girl she meets seems to be a sugar baby now, which feels very on-brand for Maddy’s brutally honest worldview.

Other returning cast members include Chloe Cherry, Maude Apatow and, thankfully, Colman Domingo. Domingo, who won an Emmy for the role, returns as Rue’s sponsor and mentor. She needs all the guidance she can get!

New faces this season include Sharon Stone, Rosalía, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler and Marshawn Lynch. Darrell Britt-Gibson also joins the cast and delivers one of the trailer’s most haunting lines: “I’m of the belief that certain people are cursed.”

And that pretty much sums up "Euphoria".

But don't take my word for it; watch the trailer yourself and buckle up because it's going to be a wild ride.
