Not long after the initial news of their split emerged, Desmond took to his Instagram Stories to address the situation directly, releasing a detailed statement about the end of their marriage.

“I want to begin by apologizing to Kristy, our family, and everyone who has been impacted by the public attention surrounding this situation,” he wrote. “I know this news has been disappointing for many, and I'm truly sorry for the hurt it has caused.”

Initial reports indicated that Kristy had filed for divorce, with allegations of infidelity surfacing shortly after news of the separation broke.

At the time, neither Desmond nor Kristy publicly commented, leaving the statement as the first direct response from either party.

He also addressed the breakdown of their relationship, explaining that they faced challenges and made efforts to work through them.

“Toward the end of 2025, I wanted to separate, and I had conversations with Kristy regarding this,” he shared.

One line in the statement has drawn particular attention. “During this period, I made choices that I am not proud of.”

While Desmond did not specify what those choices were, the wording has raised questions about whether this could be an admission of infidelity, given the allegations that accompanied the divorce filing.

He went on to say that he took responsibility for his actions and disclosed them to Kristy directly.

“I took responsibility for those actions, I shared this with her directly and personally, and ultimately we decided to divorce,” he wrote, adding a request for privacy and compassion as they navigate the next phase of their lives.

Desmond closed his message by thanking those who have supported them over the years and indicated that he would continue sharing content centred on cooking and personal inspiration, suggesting a return to his roots as he moves forward individually.
