If the 83rd Annual Golden Globes were any indication, the 2026 awards season hasn't just arrived; it has staged a full-scale takeover of the fashion scene.
While the night’s heavy hitters, Paul Thomas Anderson’s counterculture epic “One Battle After Another” and the incredible limited series “Adolescence,” dominated the ballroom, the red carpet offered a different kind of drama.
It was a night of emotional high notes, headlined by Teyana Taylor securing her first-ever Globe for her performance in “One Battle After Another” while wearing a look as unforgettable as her win.
From new takes on Old Hollywood glam to the bold, modern silhouettes, it was clear that celebrities were not playing it safe this year.
Here are the looks that stole the spotlight on the Beverly Hilton stairs.
As mentioned, Teyana Taylor’s red carpet look was a winner even before she held her Best Female Supporting Actor award. The star wore a black figure-hugging draped dress from Schiaparelli Haute Couture. While the long train added drama to the look, it was the dazzling bow detail at the back that stole the show.
“Wicked” star Ariana Grande stepped away from her usual pastels and stunned in a textured black floor-length gown by Vivienne Westword which featured a fitted bodice and a bell-shaped skirt that puffed out at the back. She was styled by top celebrity stylist Law Roach.
Selena Gomez, known for her old Hollywood glam, wore a custom off-the-shoulder black Chanel dress with white feather details across her shoulders.
While nude dresses seem to be fading away, Jennifer Lawrence, who was nominated for a role in “Die My Love”, looked effortlessly elegant in a sheer gown by Givenchy. The nude-toned gown featured floral details.
In keeping with the sheer trend, Jennifer Lopez showed off her curvaceous body in a Jean-Louis Scherrer by Stephane Rolland mermaid-style gown with shimmering brown lace details.
The mermaid style was having a moment on the red carpet this year. Not only did Olandria Carthen’s Christian Siriano dress feature a dramatic bottom, but the emerald green tone made her stand out.
However, she wasn’t the only star who opted for a bold colour. Rose Byrne, who walked away with the Best Actress in a Motion Picture award, wore a satin Chanel gown. While the design might have been simple, the green was striking.
“His and Hers” actress Tessa Thompson shimmered in an unusual gold off-the-shoulder Balenciaga gown, while Chase Infiniti, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy, brought the drama in a stunning, embellished silver corset gown by Louis Vuitton.
