"My album is done," Bruno Mars recently declared on social media, officially ending the long wait for his first solo project in nearly a decade.

While Mars has never been far from the top of the charts, it has been almost ten years since he released a full solo studio album, making this one of the most anticipated comebacks of 2026.

His last solo masterpiece, “24K Magic,” set a gold standard for modern pop and R&B.

That era produced massive hits like the title track “24K Magic,” the irresistible “That’s What I Like,” and the sultry fan-favourite “Versace on the Floor.”

The album was a massive success, famously sweeping the 2018 Grammy Awards and taking home the "Big Three" awards for Album, Record, and Song of the Year.

Even during this solo hiatus, Mars still managed to be a dominant force in music through a number of record-breaking collaborations.

He redefined retro-cool with Anderson .Paak as Silk Sonic, winning four Grammys for the chart-topping “Leave the Door Open.”

More recently, he broke the internet and streaming records with Lady Gaga on the 2024 smash “Die With A Smile,” which became the fastest song in history to reach one billion streams.

He followed that success by joining forces with ROSÉ on the viral sensation “APT.,” proving his ability to dominate the Billboard Global 200 week after week.

The wait for his solo return is finally over with the announcement of his new album, “The Romantic.”

Set for a worldwide release on February 27, 2026, the project is expected to showcase the evolution of his signature sound.

However, fans won't have to wait much longer for a preview, as the lead single is scheduled to drop this Friday, January 9, 2026.

With seven diamond-certified singles already under his belt, Mars is poised to reclaim his solo throne.
