Junior King's family say they are humbled by the outpouring of love and tributes following the TikTok star's tragic death on Thursday.
According to a police report, officers and emergency services were activated to a head-on collision between a light truck and a sedan on the N1 National Road near Verkeerdevlei.
Police said responders arrived at the scene to find one person had died.
"The report from first responders indicates that the Grey Volkswagen Polo TSI was driving on Southbound lane towards Bloemfontein, whereas the truck was driving towards Winburg on the Northbound lane," police stated.
They added that there were four passengers and the driver inside the Volkswagen Polo. The deceased was seated behind the driver with two children. The two kids, together with the passenger who was occupying the front seat, were rushed to the hospital.
Both the driver of the Volkswagen Polo and the truck escaped unharmed.
A case docket of culpable homicide was opened at Verkeerdevlei Police Station.
In a family statement, King, real name Dugulth Ferreira's sister Lucinda Windvogel said King was a " a beloved son, father, brother and artist whose talent and energy touched countless lives. While we grieve deeply, we wish to reassure the public that his children are safe. The other two passengers involved in the accident are currently hospitalised, and we ask that you keep them in your prayers as they recover."

His legacy as a performer, and cultural voice will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. We kindly ask for privacy during this time of mourning, and we thank everyone for their continued support and compassion," she added.
