Every year, new anthems define the season, shaping memories and moments with catchy hooks and unforgettable energy.
Whether it’s a club banger, a street anthem or a chilled groove, these songs set the rhythm for how South Africans celebrate the hottest months of the year.
TikTok has released its list of the top ten songs heating up South Africa, based on creations and video views across the platform.
These tracks have not only dominated timelines but have also become the soundtrack to countless trends, challenges and celebrations.
Goon Flavour, Master KG and Eemoh - “Ngishutheni”
Taking the number one spot is “Ngishutheni”, a collaboration that blends feel-good energy with irresistible rhythm.

Closing off the top ten is a heavyweight collaboration that proves amapiano’s global reach. “Abantwana Bakho” delivers a hypnotic groove, layered with soulful chants and emotional undertones. It’s a prayerful song that brings peace and unity through sound - a fitting finale to this year’s summer soundtrack.
TikTok’s head of music partnerships for the UK, Ireland and Sub-Saharan Africa, Toyin Mustapha, said that the platform remains a place where music truly comes to life.
“It’s where songs are discovered, collective enjoyment is cemented, artists grow and opportunities open up in ways that weren’t possible before. What makes it special is the community - fans, creators and musicians all coming together to shape culture and seasons in real time.”
Our thoughts: We agree with the list. These songs have dominated dance floors, airwaves and the streets. Jazzworld, GL_Ceejay, and Thukuthela have had an exceptional year, and their hard work shows.
If the current momentum continues, we wouldn’t be surprised to see them take home the Song of the Year on most radio stations when the clock strikes midnight on January 1, 2026 - and collect a few well-deserved trophies at next year’s Metro FM Music Awards and South African Music Awards (Samas).
