Why bold glamour is set to make a stunning comeback in 2026

2026 might be the year of bold glamour, I’m talking about the matte lips, cut creases and bolder colours.
Since Kylie Jenner brought back the “King Kylie” era, a lot of people online have been raving about the iconic era where people were not afraid to experiment with colour and create make-up looks that some of us still wish to re-create today.
Jenner’s fans have been loving the “King Kylie” comeback, and this entire concept has been not only about make-up but also about the wigs, the clothes and the style.
The 28-year-old is bringing back the matte lips, the coloured wigs, the heavy blush, contour and all that jazz which were swept out of the way by the “clean girl” aesthetics in early 2022 and 2023.
According to Annabelle Taurua, an in-house beauty specialist at “Fresha”, the reason why bold glamour might return in 2026 is that people are getting bored with the clean girl aesthetics.
“In the past five years, make-up almost lost its spark with trends like the ‘clean girl aesthetic’ and ‘off-duty model’ dominating the beauty sphere. People are craving playfulness again,” Taurus shared.
She further revealed that even the looks from this year’s fashion weeks all hinted that full glam might be returning.
“The reaction to Kylie’s new collection, alongside the heavy-handed looks we saw on the FW25 runways, all point to a return of high-glam make-up,” she added.
We also saw how stunning Jenner and her sisters all looked at the pop-up launch of her new make-up collection, as they channelled their inner 2016 era.
Jenner looked like a real-life Barbie doll as she wore a pink weave with a maxi latex pink dress with matching pink heels, as she matched with the theme of her launch.

While her sister, Khloe wore a short light pink and grey dress and Kim wore a light pink latex dress with slit. In addition, Kendall kept it chic with a short blue dress.
In terms of make-up, I saw hints of bold glam but they did not go all the way in. They all kept it classic and cute.
