The search for South Africa's next culinary sensation is on! The Taste Master Junior Season 2 is set to ignite the screens, bringing together 12 talented young chefs who will showcase their culinary skills under the expert guidance of celebrity chef Zola Nene and master baker Fritz Schoon.

The Taste Master Junior Season 2 is a South African culinary competition that showcases the skills, creativity, and passion of young chefs aged 13–17 from across the country.

Across a series of weekly challenges, contestants are tested on their cooking, baking, and presentation abilities while also being encouraged to tell personal and cultural stories through their dishes.

Guided and judged by celebrity chef Zola Nene and baker Fritz Schoon, the show emphasises both technical skill and creative expression. Each episode features unique tasks, such as heritage-inspired dishes or collaborative baking challenges, giving these young talents the opportunity to shine, learn, and grow in a competitive but supportive environment, while viewers get a front-row seat to the next generation of South Africa’s culinary stars.

Meet the young contestants:

Kimberly Porter, 14, from Midrand, who's been cooking since she was six and loves experimenting with new recipes.

Arona Yster, 14, from Krugersdorp, who's passionate about cooking and baking, and has even catered for a wedding with over 100 guests!

Sarah Flowers, 14, from Pretoria, a born creative who balances painting, dancing, writing, and cooking with ease.

Aphiwe Sithole, 17, from Germiston, who discovered his passion for cooking in Consumer Studies class and loves making shepherd's pie.

Tshenolo Chimuka, 17, from Johannesburg, a guitar player and maths whiz who loves baking and cooking.

Joy Nxumalo, 16, from Pretoria West, who grew up cooking with her grandmother and mother, and loves making mac and cheese with mince.

Matthew Harvey, 16, from Steinkopf, who started cooking seriously during lockdown and now runs his own food-selling hustle.

Leandri Joubert, 15, from Pretoria, a baking enthusiast who dreams of opening her own café one day.

Rorisang Moloi, 15, from Sebokeng, a bright and creative young chef who loves experimenting with traditional and modern recipes.

Tyler Robinson, 17, from Cape Town, is following in his father's footsteps to become an executive chef.

Kodi Bertish, 15, from Cape Town, an adventurous and creative young chef who loves surfing, photography, and cooking.

Isaiah Jaganathan, 16, from Johannesburg, loves bold flavours and cooking Mexican food.
