With speculation rife that new Apple devices are coming this month, Apple Senior Vice President of Marketing Greg Joswiak hinted that the new MacBook Pro M5 model will be announced on Wednesday.
Over the last week, rumours swirled that Apple could release a number of new products this month, including a MacBook Pro and an iPad Pro.
The new products will all feature the new M5 chip.
On Tuesday evening SA time, Joswiak posted on X: “Mmmmm… something powerful is coming.”
His post included a video of a laptop in silhouette making the shape of a V - which would seem to link to the new M5 Apple silicon chip coming in the MacBook Pro.
His caption was also worth analysing as he started it with five m’s which also links to the M5 chip.
Last week, two Russian YouTubers, who somehow got their hands on the M4 MacBook Pro before it was released to the public last year, unveiled new iPad Pro models with the M5 chip upgrade. This means the release of these devices has to be imminent.
Widely regarded as the most accurate leaker of Apple news, Bloomberg Managing Editor Mark Gurman shed light on the latest development on X.
He said: “The iPad Pro M4 is fairly constrained at Apple retail stores, and online shipments are now delayed till between Oct. 21-28 for online orders of some configurations. A good as any sign for an imminent iPad Pro M5 debut. Entry (non-Pro/Max chip) 14-inch MacBook Pros as well.
“On the base level 14-inch MacBook Pros, custom configurations on the line store are constrained till the end of October. Not the case for the Pro/Max and 16-inch models.”
