A man in British Columbia found himself in a sticky situation while taking a ride in a pink toy Barbie Jeep.

Kasper Lincoln was spotted cruising around recently in the tiny battery-powered vehicle at about 9am, reportedly to buy a Slurpee from the local 7/Eleven.

According to online reports, Lincoln explained that he simply got "lazy" and didn’t want to walk to the store.

He decided to take a short ride in the Barbie Jeep that belonged to his roommate's daughter.

Lincoln claimed he was going under 2 miles per hour (3kms per hour) and even used hand signals.

However, his joyride was soon over when the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) pulled him over for his unconventional choice of transport.

Lincoln then learned that in British Columbia, any conveyance with a motor is considered a car and that the driver has to have a license.

RCMP media relations officer, Jennifer Cooper said in a statement: "While it might seem to some to be an inefficient use of police time to pull over a driver in a toy car, the risk the driver was creating to other motorists on the road who were forced to go around him, coupled with the risk to himself as other drivers are not in the habit of looking for toy cars on the busy road, was enough to warrant police attention.

Cooper said Lincoln was found to have had a suspended license and was also driving under the influence.

He was ultimately "arrested for prohibited driving" and faces a 90-day driving ban, which he plans to challenge.

Lincoln additionally said that despite the unfortunate turn of events, he holds no grudges against the arresting officer.

"He was really nice. He was filling out all of this paperwork, saying, ‘This is my first time!’"

The man then shared his final conclusions from the experience, telling the outlet: "Don’t drink and drive."

Kasper Lincoln claimed that police nearly impounded the toy, which belongs to his friend's daughter, but his friend convinced them to let him take it home.
