Tyla is not only killing it on the music charts but on the red carpet, too. She is slowly but surely becoming a fashion favourite with her many red carpet-worthy looks she has showcased since her rise to fame.

Her fashion moment at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) earned her praise from none other than the iconic Claudia Schiffer.

The 23-year-old South African star, who won “Best Afrobeats Song” for “Push 2 Start” on the night, turned heads in a vintage Chanel piece once worn by Schiffer on the runway in 1993.

The supermodel celebrated the moment on Instagram, sharing pictures of herself strutting the runway in the original look alongside Tyla’s red carpet pictures.

“Tyla, you look absolutely gorgeous in this @ChanelOfficial 1993 throwback. A timeless piece from one of the house’s most memorable collections, @tyla,” Schiffer wrote.

Tyla responded with a pink heart and running emoji in the comments, while fans flooded the comment section with compliments.

For her take on the look, the multi-award-winning singer styled the corset top as a daring mini dress, pairing it with cheeky black shorts to keep the outfit practical.

She completed the look with layered gold jewellery from Pandora, adorning her neck, wrists, waist and, of course, ankles.

Given her own legacy in the fashion scene, Schiffer’s nod carried extra weight. The 55-year-old German model and actress rose to prominence in the 1990s, working on campaigns for brands like Guess before becoming the face of Chanel.

She also holds the Guinness World Record for the most magazine covers by a model, which highlights her long-standing influence in the industry.

The seasoned model still stuns at 55 for Donna Karan’s 2025 “Woman to Woman”  campaign alongside other iconic models like Imaan Hammam, Irina Shayk and Liya Kebede, to name a few.
