It’s the end of an era for pop culture enthusiasts as “E! News” is officially being taken off the air after more than 30 years as a go-to source for celebrity headlines and entertainment news.

Hosted by Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester, the show’s final broadcast is set to air on September 25, 2025. Until then, new episodes will continue to run next week and right up to its closing date.

Reports reveal that “E!” staff learned of the cancellation on the morning of Thursday, July 24, just minutes before the network aired repeat episodes.

Network execs reportedly told the team that viewership habits have changed and that today’s audience prefers real-time pop culture coverage on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, instead of tuning in for a nightly wrap-up.

By mid-2025, E!'s digital presence far surpasses its TV ratings, with over 7 billion video views and 87 million followers across social platforms, contrasting with its declining viewership.

The show’s cancellation comes just three years after its return in 2022, following a two-year hiatus. The first shutdown happened in March 2020, when the pandemic paused in-studio productions.

The network also introduced a reboot show, which featured Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and Justin Sylvester in a late-night format. However, it could not keep up with the speed and reach of online entertainment news.

Even though the TV version is wrapping up, “E! News” will live on in digital form, including the E! Online website and its various social channels.

Meanwhile, the E! network itself will continue airing original shows like “Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind” and “Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour”, with fresh content such as “Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane” and “E!’s Dirty Rotten Scandals” in the pipeline.

Some “E! News” team members are expected to transition to Versant, a related venture, though specific roles and opportunities are yet to be determined.
