CONTROVERSIAL rapper Shebeshxt has once again found himself in the spotlight and not for good reason.
A video of Shebeshxt engaging in an altercation involving a large knife is currently circulating on social media.
In the video, the rapper, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, is seen inside an entertainment venue. The audio of the argument is unclear, but Shebeshxt appears to be aggravated as he unzips his Nike jacket, pulling out a large object appearing to be a knife, and lunges it at the victim.
The video has since gone viral, with many questioning the controversial rapper's actions.
@Jabu_Macdonald said: “How Shebeshxt became so famous in SA even though he is violent to his fans shocks me!”
@Misah_Mdiza said: “Shebeshxt is a thug, he belongs behind the bars 🚮”
Many suspect that the victim in the video is a fan, which has raised the question of how an artist treats his fans so violently and continues to get bookings.
In February, Shebeshxt was in hot water in the eyes of the public court, after he was seen in a video slapping a man attempting to film a video of him.
After the video sparked outrage on social media, Shebeshxt took to his Facebook timeline to warn his fans to stop provoking him.
"This thing of yours of hitting my car with beer bottles, knocking on my window, insulting me, impressing people who can't help you and embracing me without knowing you is going to cause a problem," he said loosely translated.
In 2022, an attempted murder case was opened against him following an incident where Shebeshxt was accused of stabbing a man in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo.
In a previous video on social media, Shebeshxt was seen brandishing what appeared to be a firearm while on stage, allegedly directing it towards the crowd.
Last year, the rapper buried his daughter, Onthatile Gladys Chuene, who tragically lost her life in an accident while travelling with her father to perform at the ANC Siyanqoba Rally celebration concert on June 9, in Lebowakgomo.
