Born in Batlharos in the Northern Cape, Tlotlego Metlhe discovered cricket through her school team, when she was encouraged to try out the game by her English teacher. From the start, she was drawn to the teamwork, discipline, and competitive spirit of the sport, setting the foundation for a promising cricket journey.

For the young batter, cricket is more than a game, as she considers it a platform for growth, ambition, and personal achievement, with many exciting chapters still ahead in her sporting journey.

Beyond the game,Tlotlego describes herself as confident, ambitious, and a foodie, qualities that reflect her personality and approach to life. As a first-year student at Sol Plaatje University, she has navigated academic challenges while discovering new interests. Connecting with like-minded club students has helped her build a strong support group, making her transition to university both enriching and motivating.

However, as far as cricket is concerned, she speaks of one of her proudest achievements that came at just 13 years old, when she was selected to play for the Northern Cape provincial team – a milestone that showcased her talent and dedication from an early age. But it's not only past achievements that drive this player. Looking ahead, Tlotlego dreams of playing at iconic Test cricket stadiums around the world, relishing the chance to perform on some of the sport’s most celebrated grounds.

To prepare mentally for matches, she relies on positive affirmations, reminding herself, “I’m a solid batter,” and follows a consistent pre-game routine that includes visualising her batting strategy.

She wants the Kimberley crowd to know that she is driven to achieve her goals, both on and off the field.
