Held over two days, the tournament showcased not only sporting talent but also mutual respect and camaraderie between two of the region’s premier schools.
Diamantveld’s rugby squads were in sensational form across all age groups, registering emphatic wins in all eight matches played. From the Under-14s right through to the senior teams, the hosts demonstrated their strength and depth on the field.
The standout performance came from the Under-16 A team, who ran riot to secure a massive 75-12 win, while the Under-19 C team shut out their opponents completely with a 66-0 thrashing. While Diamantveld shone on the rugby fields, the tides turned on the hockey astro as Jim Fouchè proved why they are a national powerhouse in school hockey. The visitors controlled every game played, dominating with a blend of technical precision and relentless attack.
In the girls’ division, Jim Fouchè’s Under-19 B team dismantled Diamantveld with a commanding 12-0 victory, the largest hockey scoreline of the weekend. Their boys’ Under-19 A side also made a statement with a convincing 5-1 win.
