A LUCKY woman is celebrating a life-changing windfall after coming forward and claiming the R5.2 million Lotto Plus 2 jackpot from the February 26 draw.
The National Lottery operator, Ithuba, confirmed that the winner had spent just R40 on her ticket, which she purchased at the Astron in Klopper Street in Rustenburg.
Describing the jackpot as a dream come true, the woman said she had been playing the same numbers every day across various National Lottery games.
“When I saw that I had won, I froze in shock," she told Ithuba. "I couldn't believe that my persistence and faith had finally paid off."
The winner expressed her gratitude, noting that the money would not only improve her own life but also benefit her family. She plans to use part of her winnings to pay for her niece’s university fees.
"This will enable her to pursue her dreams without the anxiety and stress of tuition fees," she said.
As a devoted churchgoer, she also intends to donate a portion of her winnings to her church.
"I'm an avid churchgoer, and as part of my way of giving back to the community, I will be donating some of my winnings to my church," she added.
Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza congratulated the winner, highlighting the positive impact of the lottery.
"We're beyond delighted for our winner. She'll now be able to give back to her community as she's always desired, and we wish her, her niece, and her church community all the best," said Mabuza.
"This amazing win is a reminder that the National Lottery is more than just a game – it's a chance to change lives and create a better future for individuals and communities."
