THE ZF Mgcawu District Municipality has appointed Samantha Aumaureen Tatas-Titus as the new municipal manager, with effect from September 1.
Municipality spokesperson Martha Clarke said Tatas-Titus brings extensive experience in local government, having previously served as municipal manager at the Nama Khoi, Hantam and Khâi-Ma local municipalities.
“She holds a Master’s degree in Governance and Political Transformation from the University of the Free State, equipping her with both the academic foundation and practical expertise to lead the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality with vision and integrity,” Clarke said.
She extended gratitude to Andre Phete, who has served as acting municipal manager since February. “His guidance has been instrumental in ensuring operational stability and continuity, and the district municipality acknowledges his contribution to maintaining effective governance during this transitional phase.”
Clarke noted that Tatas-Titus was committed to strengthening institutional governance and fostering intergovernmental collaboration.
“She aims to enhance the public image of the district municipality and ensure the effective implementation of its mandated functions.
“The council of the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality extends its warmest wishes to Tatas-Titus as she embarks on her tenure and looks forward with confidence to the positive impact her leadership will bring,” Clarke concluded.
