A Barkly West man, 38-year-old Kelibilemang Bella Molifi, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for murder after fatally stabbing 40-year-old Gaoretelelwe Godfrey Abie during a dispute in Mataleng on December 7, 2024.
Molifi pleaded guilty to murder charges in the Barkly West Regional Court on August 29, 2025, and received an eight-year prison sentence. The investigation, led by Detective Sergeant Kgositsile Taolo of Barkly West Detectives, played a crucial role in securing the conviction.
Frances Baard District Commissioner, Major General Charlotte Makgari, welcomed the sentencing, praising Detective Sergeant Taolo's commitment and efficiency in finalising the investigation.
