A R75,000 reward has been put on the table by the SAPS as police intensify efforts to find a Northern Cape teenager who vanished without a trace more than three months ago.
Fourteen-year-old David Waterboer was last seen on February 7 in Nababeep. According to provincial police spokesperson Colonel Cherelle Ehlers, the teen was at home with his mother that morning and reportedly planned to attend a sports event in nearby Concordia. He has not been seen since.
On the day of his disappearance, David was wearing black shorts, a black T-shirt and navy blue sandals.
Despite intensive investigations led by the Springbok Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit, alongside Springbok and Nababeep SAPS, no concrete leads have emerged.
Now, the police are hoping that the R75,000 reward may prompt someone to come forward with information that could crack the case wide open. The reward will be paid to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible - and to David being found.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Captain Whynoma Love on 082 874 4532 or 027 712 8104, call Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or use the MySAPS app. All information will be treated in the strictest confidence.
While the police continue to investigate David’s disappearance, his family and the local community remain hopeful for answers.
