FOR MORE than three decades, the Kimberley Dance Academy has been shaping young dancers into artists, instilling in them a love for movement, discipline, and grace. Now, as the academy turns 31, they are set to celebrate this milestone in true style with a breathtaking performance event, “Timeless Elegance: 31 Years in Dance”.
Set to take place on February 21 and 22 at the Northern Cape Theatre, this two-night showcase promises to be a dazzling tribute to the academy’s legacy. Featuring an array of performances spanning ballet and modern dance, audiences can expect to be mesmerised by the sheer talent and dedication of Kimberley Dance Academy’s students.
For decades, the academy has been a beacon of dance education in the Northern Cape, offering world-class training in ballet - under the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus - and modern dance through the Association of International Dance Teachers (AIDT). With a long-standing reputation for excellence, students have consistently delivered outstanding results in their dance examinations, a testament to the academy’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of performers.
But Timeless Elegance is about more than just showcasing skill - it’s a celebration of the heart and soul that make dance so powerful. From the tiniest dancers taking their first pirouettes to seasoned performers commanding the stage, this event will reflect the passion, dedication, and artistry that have defined the academy for 31 years.
“This is more than just a performance; it’s a tribute to the past, a celebration of the present, and an exciting glimpse into the future of Kimberley Dance Academy,” says Christine Filmalter, the event organiser.
The show promises to captivate audiences of all ages, making it an unmissable event for the Kimberley community. Those eager to witness a true “Legacy in Motion” can secure their tickets via iTickets at https://itickets.co.za/events/482175, as no tickets will be sold at the door.
