The picturesque town of Nieuwoudtville came alive with vibrant colours and infectious energy as the local SAPS, in partnership with the Community Policing Forum (CPF), Youth Crime Desk, Blue Patrollers, Kabouterland Crèche, and SAMBI, proudly celebrated Heritage Day with the community.

The festivities kicked off at Kabouterland Crèche, where excited children participated in thrilling activities like athletics, spoon races, and sack races. The celebrations then spillled over into a lively community programme featuring an obstacle course, mixed netball, a colour run, touch rugby, and soccer matches.

SAPS members, CPF representatives, Blue Patrollers, the Youth Crime Desk, SAMBI, and residents all joined in, showcasing the strong community spirit that defines Nieuwoudtville.

Mr Monty Baardt warmly welcomed everyone, while CPF Chairperson Miss L Vyver delivered the opening prayer, setting the tone for a day filled with joy, togetherness, and cultural pride. The event was a testament to the valuable partnership between SAPS and the community in promoting unity, sport, and cultural heritage.

Heritage Day is a significant occasion in South Africa, honouring the country's rich diversity of cultures, traditions, and shared identity. By celebrating this special day, the community came together to embrace their roots and showcase the beauty of unity in diversity.
