An evening to honour legends with Don Julio

The red carpet was a breathtaking showcase of style and star power, with South Africa’s elite gracing the evening in exquisite couture. Among the illustrious guests in attendance were The Bomb Shelter’s Executive Angus Gibson, Adulting actress Samkelo Ndlovu, Soon Comes Night actor Kwenzo Ngcobo, 2024 honouree Nambitha Ben-Mazwi & Youngins actor Lebohang Lephatsoana.

The highlight of the evening was a heartfelt tribute to Desiree Markgraaff and Xolile Tshabalala, two extraordinary figures who have left an indelible mark on the South African film and television industry. Desiree Markgraaff, managing director of The Bomb Shelter Productions, has played a pivotal role in shaping some of the country’s most iconic television content, including Yizo Yizo, Zone 14, Jacob’s Cross, Isibaya, and Ayeye. Xolile Tshabalala, an acclaimed actress, has captivated audiences with her performances in 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls, Secrets & Scandals, Blood & Water, and Blood Legacy.
