Outside of Adidas football boots and morally dubious World Cups, David Beckham is generally pretty stingy when it comes to officially putting his name to anything. The footballer and style icon has made something of a habit of shrewdly being very choosy about what he chooses to endorse, instead letting the mystique and longevity of his own personal brand speak for itself.
As such, the first official car to carry the DB seal of approval was going to have to be pretty special, and this, in all its black and neon pink glory, is it. The first car created by Beckham as part of his ongoing partnership with Maserati, this custom MC-20, developed by the Modena-based marque's Fuoriserie customisation program, is Beckham through and through.
The performance pedigree of the $430,000 AU MC20, unveiled last year to much acclaim by Maserati, speaks for itself. The first proper supercar developed by the brand in over 15 years, the 3.0-litre, twin turbo six-cylinder car develops over 620hp, enough to fire it from 0-100km/h in under 3 seconds and on to a top speed of over 320km/h. This was the car that Beckham and Maserati used as a blank slate to create his vision of the ideal supercar, taking cues from his spiritual new home across the Atlantic.

That’s exactly how David Beckham created his own MC20, merging ideas and dreamlike feelings with our designers in Modena. Thanks to this union, the British champion’s passion for Miami takes shape in a customised car that exemplifies the concepts of performance and sportiness.
The car is adorned in a simple black colourway inside and out, the only pops of colour coming by way of infusions of pink in a nod to the neon lights of the Floridian city and MLS team he owns, Inter Miami. The Brembo brake calipers, seat stitching and custom logos all shine in pink, contrasting a combination of both glossy and matte black panels that give it a sleek, sporty air. A personalised nameplate with a glossy-matte effect on the central tunnel reads "For David".
