THE DFA recently spoke to Dawid de Greeff, the AGA-NC Provincial Coordinator, who expressed his enthusiasm about the growing interest in new AGA-SA Federation Units across the Northern Cape.

De Greeff says that he believes that the upcoming Inter-Provincial Championship, scheduled for September 25-28, will be a catalyst for even greater growth in the sport over the next year.

He told the DFA that he is also excited about an upcoming archery equipment donation and sponsored Basic Archery Instructor Training for ELCON School for Disabled Learners in Kimberley, set to take place on Saturday, August 17.

De Greeff explained that archery’s appeal lies in its inclusivity, offering opportunities for both abled and disabled athletes to compete on an equal footing, regardless of gender.

He added that he was proud of the fact that the Northern Cape is one of the first AGA-SA provinces to introduce this sport to disabled athletes, fostering a diverse and inclusive archery community. This initiative underscores the province’s commitment to ensuring that archery is accessible to all, promoting physical activity, discipline, and a sense of belonging among participants, he said.

The upcoming AGA-SA Annual Tournament in Kimberley promises to be a celebration of the Northern Cape’s people and culture, as well as a showcase of the positive development and upliftment that archery brings to the region.

As the province continues to make strides in the sport, it stands as a beacon of potential, demonstrating that with dedication and community support, any goal can be achieved.

For anybody who would like to get involved as a sponsor to assist the group in making their trip a success, you can contact Dawid de Greeff, who serves as the AGA-NC Provincial Coordinator, at 073 030 2909.
