AS SOUTH Africa’s gravel cycling season nears its finale, riders are gearing up for one last epic challenge: the Stanford 100 Miler returns on 6 December 2025, promising an unforgettable showdown across the Overstrand’s most scenic dirt roads.
Now in its fourth year, the Stanford 100 Miler has cemented itself as a highlight on the country’s cycling calendar. Born from the team behind the renowned Tanqua Kuru Bicycle Race, the event is known for its handcrafted routes, vibrant riding culture, and emphasis on pure adventure.
The race attracts a wide mix of participants, from elite gravel racers seeking a final test of endurance to weekend warriors and newcomers eager to experience the thrill of dirt-road cycling.
Jeremy Crowder, event organiser, says, “As the last major ride of the season, the Stanford 100 Miler is a celebration of grit, freedom and the open road. Each year it grows in stature and spirit. We love seeing seasoned gravel racers and first-timers lining up together.”
