IN A THRILLING basketball match held last weekend, the Sol Plaatje University (SPU) women’s team emerged victorious, defeating the Greenpan Wolves and earning their first win of the season.
The highly-anticipated game at the Maloof Skate Plaza showcased the determination and skill of both teams, but it was the SPU team who ultimately claimed the hard-fought 48-16 victory.
Fans had been eagerly awaiting the clash between these two teams and the Sol Plaatje supporters had reason to cheer when their team secured their first win of the season.
In the senior men’s section, the Kimberley Super Bulls team also delivered an outstanding performance, handing the Greenpoint Panthers their heaviest defeat of the season. The Super Bulls dominated the game from start to finish and nailed down an emphatic 124-11 victory, moving them to the top of the league standings.
In other action, the Galeshewe Rebels and the Saints fought hard in a game crammed with determination and competitiveness. In the end, the Galeshewe Rebels emerged victorious 45-36 in a nail-biter.
