A 38-year-old man, Danster Jansen, was sentenced to ten years imprisonment after he was convicted for the murder of Dawid Brummer, 29, who was stabbed to death on February 10, 2024.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Molefi Shemane, said Jansen was sentenced by the Victoria West Regional Court last week.
“The hard work and perseverance by Detective Sergeant Basil Abraham of the Victoria West Detective Unit secured the murder conviction of Jansen.
“On the night of the incident, at approximately 7.20pm, police attended to a murder scene on a farm outside Victoria West. Upon arrival, the body of the deceased was discovered with stab wounds. The accused was subsequently arrested and denied bail,” said Shemane.
He added that contact crimes remain a priority to the police and detectives will reinforce efforts to ensure hefty sentences,” he said.
