Galeshewe police investigating a case of attempted murder.
A 47-YEAR-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was shot near Chris Hani Park on Friday evening.
His mother, who was on the scene, stated that someone had called her son to come outside the house after which she heard a loud gunshot.
Her son then fled towards the garage in Barkly Road where he collapsed inside the shop.
Eyewitnesses related seeing the suspects driving a white Toyota double cab bakkie.
An ambulance transported the wounded man to hospital.
Police spokesperson Captain Sergio Kock confirmed on Saturday that the Galeshewe police were investigating a case of attempted murder after a 47-year-old man was shot in the chest at his home near Chris Hani Park in Galeshewe on Friday, August 28, at about 8pm.
“The suspect/s allegedly arrived at the victims’ house, called him outside and shot him in the chest. The suspect/s were allegedly travelling in a white bakkie with dark tinted windows,” said Kock.
He said that the victim sought assistance at the nearby garage in Barkly Road. “The victim is currently in a very serious condition in the intensive care unit at a local hospital in Kimberley.”
Kock stated that no arrests had been effected yet.
