THE NORTHERN Cape SAPS provincial corporate communication and liaison services dedicated their “67 minutes” to serve patients at the Galeshewe Day Hospital with warm soup and bread on Wednesday as part of Mandela Day celebrations.

SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said the acting deputy provincial commissioner for crime detection, Major-General Jacques Raymond, accompanied the provincial head, Brigadier Mashay Gamieldien, to serve more than 150 patients and children with a warm meal.

“Provincial pro-active policing head Brigadier Irene Kopeledi assisted Galeshewe community members with affidavits, certifications and complaints at the mobile community service centre that was parked at the John Daka phase 1 four-way stop,” said Kock.

He added that similar outreach programmes would be held across the Province in honour of Mandela Day.
