The Roodepan police have launched a culpable homicide investigation following the death of a 69-year-old grandmother in a hit-and-run accident in Raven Street.
THE ROODEPAN police are investigating a culpable homicide case after a 69-year-old grandmother was killed during a hit-and-run accident in Raven Street, Roodepan, on September 3, at around 8pm.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said on Monday that the deceased, Lettie Lourance, was walking on the pavement with her children and grandchildren when she was hit from behind by an unidentified maroon hatchback.
“The driver failed to stop at the accident scene. The police are requesting the assistance of the public to provide information regarding the incident,” said Kock.
