THE KAGISHO police have set aside a reward for any information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of three suspects who were allegedly involved in the rape of a 15-year-old girl.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Timothy Sam said the incident occurred when the teenager was walking to visit a friend.
“The Kagisho police are investigating a rape case following the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Fish Crescent street, behind the shopping complex in Galeshewe, on Monday, April 18, 2022,” said Sam.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was walking alone to visit a friend who is staying in the same area where the incident occurred. She noticed three men following her and she decided to walk faster, but the suspects grabbed her. One of the three suspects raped her while the other two held her down.”
Sam urged anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the police.
“The police are requesting residents in the area or anyone to assist in tracing and identifying the suspects by contacting the investigating officer, Sergeant N Botha from the Galeshewe FCS unit, on 073 224 6850 or via the MySAPS app. All information will be treated as confidential,” he said.
