THE NORTHERN Cape Society for the Blind will host a “Dine as a Blind” fund-raising event at Elizabeth Conradie School on March 7 to raise public awareness about various eye conditions affecting the visually impaired.
Organiser Megan Brockbank said diners will have the unique opportunity to step into the world of visual impairment by experiencing conditions such as glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, complete blindness, and severe cataracts – all while enjoying a specially prepared two-course meal.
“The public is invited to experience something that has never been done before, for a good cause,” she added.
