THE KIMBERLEY SAPS Serious and Violent Crimes Unit has appealed to the public for assistance in locating a missing person, 46-year-old Klaas van Rooy from Griekwastad.
Van Rooy was last seen on Friday, September 20, 2024, shortly after being admitted to the Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital in Kimberley for undisclosed medical reasons.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Molefi Shemane described Van Rooy as medium-built and said that at the time of his disappearance, he was wearing blue trousers and a grey tracksuit top.
The police are urging anyone who may have seen Van Rooy or have any information regarding his whereabouts to come forward. Detective Sergeant Kelaegile Mosala can be reached directly at 082 302 0407, while the public can also report tips anonymously by calling Crime Stop at 08600 10111. Additionally, information can be submitted via the MySAPS app, ensuring that all tips are treated with the utmost confidentiality.
