30 Christmas babies born in the Northern Cape

A total of 30 babies were born in the Northern Cape, on Christmas Day, the first being a baby girl who was delivered at Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital in Kimberley

A total of 30 babies were born in the Northern Cape, on Christmas Day, the first being a girl who was delivered at Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital in Kimberley.

The MEC for the Department of Health Maruping Lekwene, along with the acting HOD Mxolisi Mlatha and senior managers visited Galeshewe Day and Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospitals on Wednesday to welcome the newborn babies.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health Lebogang Majaha added that the first baby in the province was girl, who was born at 12.20am at Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital on December 25.

“Across the Province, public health facilities reported a steady stream of Christmas babies amounting to 30 healthy newborn babies including 16 girls and 14 boys.”

He stated that the MEC expressed his heartfelt thanks and best wishes to all health professionals for their dedication and commitment in the public service.
