THE PORTFOLIO Committee on Small Business Development will, from October 8, assess the impact of the Department of Small Business Development's intervention programmes on small enterprises during its four-day oversight visit to the Northern Cape.
On Tuesday, the committee will visit Delportshoop, Longlands, Barkly West, and Kimberley, within the Sol Plaatje Local Municipality, to inspect various enterprises, including those in catering, farming, plumbing, fruit and vegetable production, beauty salons, and internet cafés.
It will continue inspections of enterprises in Kimberley on Wednesday, focusing on DCO Holdings (Pty) Ltd, Letshotshwa (Pty) Ltd and the Northern Cape Agriculture Incubator, while engaging with beneficiaries.
On Thursday, the focus will shift to Upington in the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality, where the committee will inspect a range of enterprises, including the Masakhane Art Centre, Amor De Dios Creative Studio, Tloufieka’s Projects, and JWC Fast Food.
The visit will conclude on Friday, October 11, with inspections in Kuruman and Kathu, in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality, of small enterprises such as Thanodi Spare and Stationery (Pty) Ltd, Fillies Enterprise and Services (Pty) Ltd, Resemeletse Motlopi Coffee Project, and Varquioline Holdings (Pty) Ltd.
