BACKYARD farmers will sell their produce at the Sol Plaatje Farmers Market at the Galeshewe circle on Friday.

A spokesperson for the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Bongani Silingile, said the farmers would sell vegetables such as spinach, onions, chillies and seedlings, as well as strawberries, green peppers, live chickens, eggs, raw honey and herbal products.

“The purpose of bringing backyard farmers together is to create a platform for them to market and sell their agricultural produce. This will enable them to generate income to ensure food security and sustainable livelihoods,” said Silingile.
