KELVIN Momo, known off-stage as Thato Ledwaba, has just dropped his fifth studio album, “Sewe”, and it’s already making history.
Released on August 9, this album has become a massive hit, racking up over 1.328 million streams on its very first day in South Africa alone, according to Spotify.
The album has quickly become a fan favourite, hitting 15 million streams in less than a month. “Sewe” features 30 tracks that perfectly blend Momo’s smooth, jazzy vibes with the popular rythmns of amapiano, creating a soundtrack that feels both fresh and familiar.
Momo shared his emotional reaction to the album’s success on social media.
He wrote: “TEARS OF JOY 🥹 SEWE (MY GRANDMOTHER) Got the feeling ♥️ thank you so much to everyone that has been listening to the album and a special shout-out to @donjuliosa for an amazing album launch. We on 15 million plus streams.”
