GET READY to soak up the sun, Northern Cape! This week, residents can look forward to warm and mostly sunny weather, perfect for enjoying the great outdoors.

Kimberley kicks off the week with sizzling temperatures, soaring up to 35 degrees Celsius on Monday and Tuesday. As we move toward midweek, a few light showers may make an appearance on Wednesday and Thursday, but don’t expect much relief from the heat – temperatures will still hover around a warm 31°C to 32°C.

Hold onto your hats, however, as winds are forecast to pick up, especially on Wednesday, with gusts reaching a brisk 58km/h.

As the weekend rolls in, conditions will cool slightly, bringing clear skies and sunshine on Friday and Saturday. Daytime temperatures will dip to a pleasant 29°C, while nights will cool down to a mild 13°C – ideal for stargazing. No significant rainfall is on the horizon, providing the perfect backdrop for outdoor activities.

Over in Upington, expect clear skies and balmy temperatures with highs reaching a scorching 37°C on Wednesday. Winds will be moderate, ranging from 15 to 30km/h, with occasional gusts to keep things interesting. There may be some cloud cover on Sunday, but again, no significant rainfall is expected.

As we head toward the weekend, prepare for cooler nights, with temperatures dipping as low as 9°C on Sunday. With mostly dry conditions ahead, it’s a fantastic time to embrace the Northern Cape’s warm spring sunshine!

So, whether you’re planning a picnic, a hike, or simply lounging in your backyard, enjoy the pleasant weather. Just remember to stay hydrated and be mindful of the UV index during those midday hours. Happy sunny days ahead!
